OUR STORY
We are a design studio that customizes products and services that reduce the amount of unavoidable food waste in households.
Throughout the design process, we found out that an act of demonstration can serve as a trigger and open a door for a conversation where we can then educate people and influence them.
This changes their behaviour and their perception of unavoidable food waste.
What is unavoidable food waste?
Unavoidable food waste is waste that arises from food and drink preparation
that is not considered edible under normal circumstances.
What we do
In order to achieve our goal, we first need to show people that unavoidable food waste is neither unavoidable nor waste. In other words, we need to change the stigma around it. Next, people have to avoid their own waste. They need stimulation and support to change their behaviour. We collaborate with companies to see where and how they can make an impact.
Join our mission and avoid the unavoidable.
How do we achieve our goal?
Demonstrate
To change the stigma towards unavoidable food we want to show people that unavoidable
food waste is edible.
One of the ways we have done this is by making a tea out of orange peels, which will be sold in the Moychay shop.
Trigger
After we show that unavoidable food waste is edible it is easier to change peoples behavior.
In this step we want to make people aware of what they can do with their unavoidable food waste.
This could be done by creating a campaign for the Albert Heijn, which consists of posters offering recipes people can try at home.
